“I combine narratives and visuals in one piece in hope to create more than just a pretty image.  My inspiration comes from everyday life, human relationships and my own experiences.  I’ve drawn all my life and constantly doodle.  I enjoy experimenting with patterns and colours, giving the work a more natural and carefully detailed appearance.”

Olga Krasanova

Olga Krasanova, official Fire Station Creative Prints artist
Olga Krasanova held her solo exhibition entitled 'The ABC of Mothering' at Fire Station Creative in July/August 2018.  She also participated in the “Citizen Spire” group project in 2017 and the award winning “Windsocks” installation in 2016 both taking place at Fire Station Creative.

Olga on her Fire Station Creative solo exhibition 'Mothering':
“Before becoming a mother I worried about how I looked.  Was I the right shape and size, was I attractive enough?  I now realise none of that matters.  My body is now a bed, a soothing space, a safe space and a source of food.  I've explored all of this in my work as well as poking a little bit of fun at myself as a first-time mum"
Olga studied at Central St Martins in London graduating in July of 2011 and has since devoted her time to her creative endeavours.  Over the years she has held numerous solo exhibitions and participated in many group exhibitions and installations as well.  Olga’s most recent work has been with “Oh MotHer” a group exhibition organised by Spilt Milk in Edinburgh and “Alight” organised by VAS also in Edinburgh.  Olga is also the recipient of the 1st place prize award in both an Art Direction/Photography competition by Mother Agency in London and a creative competition by Futurerising for “Franco Manca”.

After having to vacate her studio at Fire Station Creative in order to move abroad Olga now resides in Vigo, a town in North West Spain.
